Healing the Mother-Daughter Relationship

  WORKSHOP

We all know that our relationship with our mother affects us deeply. We may not know that all our adult relationships are unconsciously influenced by this primary connection. We may sense that we are stuck repeating unhealthy patterns, but we may not know how to change them.

This workshop provides a nurturing, safe container for women 18yrs and older to explore, heal and honor your relationship with your mother and the child within. Participants learn practical tools for healing childhood wounds, releasing guilt, fear and defensiveness, and creating your own safety. Through the process, you identify and release patterns and beliefs preventing you from being your authentic self. The result is improved communication, clear boundaries, speaking from the heart, giving and receiving support, and de-escalating stress reactions. More in touch with your real needs and gifts, you strengthen your ability to express them, and increase your capacity to give and receive love.

This transformational learning process developed and taught for thirty years is an integration of principles and practices from somatic and movement psychology, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and meditation. Participants benefit from practical tools for embodying change from the inside:

  • Habit to Choice

  • Reactive to Response-able

  • Disconnected to Connected

  • Victim to Empowered

Participants work in pairs and small groups. Time is provided for personal process, writing and reflecting. The learning modalities are varied: verbal, non-verbal, inner reflection and movement awareness. This fluid structure allows us to work with whatever emerges from the participants’ journeys. Our attitude is one of exploring and allowing. We facilitate the co-creation of a community of women who support each other in reclaiming and re-creating their authentic selves and deepening their relationships.

The atmosphere is safe, nurturing, connected, intimate, and healing. Participants can be at different levels of awareness and experience. Our facilitation style encourages the exploration and acceptance of differences and individual needs. Though the topic is serious, our approach is relaxed, playful, curious, and non-judgmental.
